Le Vu Lan (Ullambana)
Parent’s Day Ceremony
You are cordially invited to Buu Mon Buddhist Temple’s 2008 celebration of Le Vu Lan, also known as Parent’s Day or Ullambana. A Vietnamese vegetarian meal will be offer to those attending the celebration. Please invite your friends and family. On this day, Buddhists offer prayers to their departed relatives and honor their living parents and elders, with prayers and special attention. It is generally believed that anyone who performs any good deed accumulates spiritual merit. It is considered an even more pious act when the merits that have been earned are shared with the departed relatives. Sharing these merits in this way will help them to be reborn in more favorable conditions and to alleviate their suffering.
